Since 1982, the 21st of June has been set in France as the Day of Music and rapidly spread through other countries. Now, over 100 countries are celebrating music on this special day. Hermes Records and the Cultural Center of the French Embassy in Iran celebrated the International Day of Music on June 21st and 22nd 2003 by organizing a live concert at the Niavaran Cultural Complex in Tehran. The concert was made of 3 separate parts where each band performed successively and at the end a jam session was planned. The atmosphere between the musicians was so friendly that it led the Alain Brunet Didgeridoo Orchestra (France) and the Shargh Music Ensemble (Iran) to give a Concert based entirely on a jam under the name of Paris-Tehran Project. The concert was recorded and the resulting album crosses over Contemporary Jazz and Persian Music in an outdoor venue. « Hide Description
